Emma's Pups in the Park sefie

Now that it’s officially Spring, there will be plenty of opportunities to be outside with your pet. One event we love is Pups in the Park.

What is Pups in the Park?

Pups in the Park has been around for several years now. It allows you to bring your dog to specific Washington Nationals baseball games at Nationals Park. Every dog ticket purchases for Pups in the Park benefits the Washington Humane Society.

When will Pups in the Park be held?

Pups in the Park is extremely popular and tickets sell out quickly. Because of the popularity, two dates have been added to the season. We find that the best dates to purchase tickets are night or cooler spring/summer games. Notice there are no July dates this year.

Saturday, April 18 2015 Nats vs. Phillies at 1:05 pm

Saturday, May 23 2015 Nats vs. Phillies at 4:05 pm

Wednesday, June 3, 2015 Nats vs. Blue Jays at 7:05pm

Sunday, June 21, 2015 Nats vs. Pirates at 1:35pm

Thursday, September 3, 2015 Nats vs. Braves at 7:05 pm

Saturday, September 26, 2015 Nats vs. Phillies at 4:05 pm

How do I get there with my dog?

When we go to a Pups in the Park event, we usually drive and park in one of the parking lots near the stadium. Tickets for the lots can be purchased online. You can also take your dog on the Metro, but ONLY if they are carried in a secure carrier (or container- as they say on the Metro website- container sounds so harsh to me). The metro train stop closest to the stadium is the Navy Yard station on the Green line.

What about tickets?

Tickets for Pups in the Park are available for individual games. Due to popularity, this year, they have a mini season ticket plan-just for Pups in the Park events- how cool is that! Oh and remember- the cost of dog tickets benefit the Washington Humane Society. A great outing and an act of kindness all in one event!

Individual Tickets: $26 – owners ticket $10- dog ticket

Mini plan (for all 6 games): $120-owners ticket $60- dog ticket

What to bring?

Although, there are water stations for your dog, we usually bring out portable bowl for water. We also bring a few doggie snacks for our dogs and for our new dog friends (with their owners permission, of course). Your dog’s fave blanket or towel also helps them sit comfortably in their seat. Don’t forget to bring your signed waiver form-found on the Nationals website.

Not in DC?

Check with your local MLB team to see if they have Pups in the Park events.

Maybe the Wizards or Redskins will try this too one day.

Check back for a #TeamPetLuv Pups in the Park event coming soon!
