What I Thought I’d Never Do: Planning A Dog Birthday Party
September 30, 2015, I look at the calendar and see that it’s actually October eve. October is a very special month for Libra and I. We celebrate our birthday on the same day. Libra turns 5 and I turn so old that I forgot. My last pet Missi died from kidney failure when she was 5, so this is a particularly significant number for me. This year, I would like to simply celebrate life of my pet buddy. Today, I started planning.
Location, Location. Location:
In planning for Libra’s 5th birthday, I wanted to choose a location. I wanted a location so that our pet friends would be able to discover new locations and services for their pet in the DC area. Boy, was this not easy!
Zoom Room
On location I had mind from previous research was Zoom Room in Rockville which, according to Google, is now closed.
Unleashed by Petco
I then headed to the Unleashed by Petco website and noticed that they have many convenient locations and their webpage stated that Pet Parties were available at each of the location sites I visited (Navy Yard, Pentagon Row, Arlington). I called each location and each person made me feel like I was asking to have a part on Pluto (which isn’t even a planet anymore). I then had to make them aware that it was stated on their website. Still, no help! The Pentagon Row store did take my information in order for the manager to give me a call tomorrow, as this employee was new to the store.
Puparatzi Parties LLC
After much searching, I came across a website for a company called Puparatzi Parties. According to their website, they offer “Custom Party Packages for your Pampered Pooch.” They provide birthday parties, boat cruises, thematic celebrations, adoption announcements and more! I called the number listed and left a message. Seconds later my phone rang and Puparatzi pets was on the line. I gave her my information and I had an email with a list of party packages to choose from. Some were a little more pricey than I was budgeting for, but we’ll see.
So this is where I am so far in planning. I think I may go with Puparatzi Parties LLC.
